Employee Spotlight: George Banda Arias
George Banda Arias joined Corporate Technologies’ Kansas City office several years ago and today serves as an IT Field Engineer. Prior to coming on board, George worked at Sam’s Club. He’s such a valuable, long-time member of the team — we don’t know what we’d do without him.
Meet George!
Tell us about your work at Corporate Technologies’ Kansas City office
As an IT Field Engineer, my main responsibility is making sure our clients feel heard and that their concerns are addressed. Whether that means traveling to client sites to troubleshoot an issue or resolving a problem remotely, my goal is always to provide reliable support and help our clients get back to work as quickly as possible.
What’s your favorite aspect of your work?
My favorite aspect of the job is the relief and happiness clients and team members feel when we’ve solved a difficult problem. I enjoy troubleshooting complex issues, but the most rewarding part is seeing the stress come off someone’s shoulders when everything is working again and knowing I was able to help.
What’s your favorite thing about working at Corporate Technologies?
One of the things I appreciate most about our company is the culture. We really depend on each other. Everyone is willing to jump in to help when needed, and we’ve built a culture where people have each other’s backs. It feels more like a family than just coworkers, and that’s something I’ve always valued throughout my time here.
What do you like to do when you’re not working?
Outside of work, I enjoy gaming, watching movies, and following soccer, especially Manchester United. I’m also a fan of board games and card games, particularly strategy-based games that challenge me to think critically while having fun with friends and family.
If you could hang out with anyone for a day (living or dead), who would it be and why?
If I could have a conversation with anyone, it would be Sir Alex Ferguson. He is one of the greatest soccer managers of all time and a legendary figure at Manchester United. I would love to learn more about his leadership style, how he built and maintained a winning culture for so many years, and how he motivated teams through both success and adversity. I believe many of those lessons can be applied not only to sports but also to teamwork and leadership in the workplace.
What’s your favorite Kansas City restaurant?
One of my favorite restaurants in the Kansas area is Aoyoma Ramen on 119th Street in Olathe. They serve some of the best ramen I’ve ever had, and it’s always one of my top recommendations when someone asks where to eat.
What’s your favorite Kansas City place to go?
When I need a break from technology and the fast pace of everyday life, I enjoy visiting the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens. The walking trails, beautiful flowers, and peaceful atmosphere make it the perfect place to relax and recharge. It’s one of my favorite places in the Kansas City area to clear my head and enjoy some quiet time outdoors.
