Celebrating Kansas City’s 2025 Top Women Leaders
By Brittany Fugate, Founder
While I usually hate drawing attention to myself, I also know that being recognized in the Kansas City business community brings attention to my amazing, hard-working team at Cenetric. (And I can’t do that enough!)
I’ve also realized that it’s important for women to hear each others’ stories of how they became leaders and what it took to get there. That’s why being named as one of Kansas City’s Women of Influence for 2025 by the Kansas City Business Journal means so much to me.
I was one of 25 women leaders in our region who were recognized for their career accomplishments and contributions to the business community. Hundreds applied, and the winners were selected by a panel of judges and honored at an awards luncheon in August.
The women honored (see list below) range from those who started their own businesses to those who lead some of the area’s largest enterprises. From award-winning tortillas to education and from soccer to breaking the cycle of generational poverty through extensive job training, these women are truly making a difference in our community as outstanding leaders.
At the luncheon, it was inspiring to hear each woman speak about how she got to where she is today, what drives her, or the advice she has for others.
At the ceremony, the host asked me how struggling as a young single mom paved the way to my success.
“Anybody who’s talked to me for more than a couple of minutes has probably heard about my children,” I answered. “As a 17-year-old single mother and 10th grade high school dropout, a lot of people told me that I had limited my options and that I wouldn’t have much of a career. They said it was the end of the road for me, but I found my purpose in that.”
I was driven to build the best life I could for my children and to help make the world a little bit better along the way. I was thrilled to have all three of my children with me at the event. For me, that’s the definition of success.

The Cenetric team is here for Kansas City businesses
When I started Cenetric, it was to give growing businesses access to the same type of IT support that enterprises have. Today, we’re still doing that — from biotech to nonprofits to restaurants to churches, we know the kind of technology that will help small and medium-sized organizations need to succeed.
Looking for IT support right here in Kansas City? Cenetric has the experience and availability you need to keep running smoothly 24/7. Tell us about your organization and we’ll be in touch to get started right away.
