By Brittany Fugate, CEO at Cenetric
Cynthia Stiles, Systems Engineer, has been with Cenetric for a little over a year, but she’s already playing a big part in our success.
In her role, Cynthia works on escalated problems, diagnoses and resolves complex technical issues, and works on larger client projects. She also recently represented the Cenetric team at the Xchange conference, where IT leaders and solution providers discuss tech strategy, best practices and where the industry is headed.
“I loved how the conference focused on learning from each other,” Cynthia said. “There wasn’t any antagonistic behavior or competition. It felt like a space where we could openly share ideas and make suggestions.”
“The most valuable thing I learned, and this is going to sound so cheesy, is that what we face as an MSP is not unique,” she shared. “But I also learned that Cenetric handles things with a much more customer-service-focused style than what I heard from other folks. It made me proud to be a part of a company that really does put the customer first.”
Meet Cynthia!
What’s your favorite aspect of your work?
It’s that feeling that someone’s day is a little better because I was able to help them. This applies to both our customers and our team. We have a great team that supports each other in everything.
What’s your favorite employee benefit Cenetric provides?
I have a few, but mental health days are at the top. Every now and then, things are just crazy, maybe at work, at home, or both, and you just need a break. Knowing that it’s okay to take that day without judgment is just huge.
A close second is that lunch and coffee are provided, and we also have a break room full of snacks (and our Gardyn, an indoor hydroponic vegetable tower, to offset them). Our fish tank is a welcome brain break too. (I’m in charge of the fish and the Gardyn!)
What’s your favorite thing about working at Cenetric?
I love that Cenetric is really focused on our community. We attend quite a few volunteer events, and each year, we choose a local non-profit to receive IT services for the year. We also thrive on teamwork. It’s not a competition; it’s about making sure everyone has the support they need to get things done.
What do you like to do when you’re not working?
I love to read and play video games. I am learning to paint, but so far, I am not an artist.
If you could hang out with anyone for a day (living or dead), who would it be and why?
Lucille Ball. I grew up watching “I Love Lucy” reruns as a kid and thought she was hilarious. Then, I started to read up on the actual person.
She was an entrepreneur at a time when women didn’t own property. She and her husband started a production company that produced Star Trek, among many others. Just an amazing businesswoman and actress. She was breaking all the rules of what a woman could or couldn’t do at the time.
What’s your favorite Kansas City restaurant?
What’s your favorite Kansas City place to go?
Chiefs tailgating and games. We used to have season tickets for years (pre-Mahomes era) and had such a great tailgate family. We had a whole menu of items for every game, from fried fish to sweet and sour meatballs, BBQ, chili, etc. We also welcomed other fans, many of them visiting team fans, to huddle up with the propane heater and grab some grub with us. We ended up hosting folks from as far away as Germany, Australia, and Korea!
