Supporting Kids in Need (Without Picking Up a Golf Club)

By Brittany Fugate, CEO at Cenetric

When it comes to supporting the Kansas City community, the Cenetric team is all in — especially if it means spending a gorgeous May day out on the golf course.

Now don’t get any ideas — while we love participating in 5Ks and trivia nights, we aren’t really golfers. But when the Love Fund for Children asked for sponsors and volunteers, we knew we could lend our support that way.

Teeing up funds for Kansas City kids

The Love Fund for Children is an amazing organization that steps in to help children ages newborn to 18 in the Kansas City metro area when funding from other sources is not available. From therapeutic tools, medical equipment, eye exams and glasses to clothing, shoes, beds and bedding, baby items and personal hygiene items, the Love Fund makes sure children in need can access what they require.

As a member of the board, I feel very close to The Love Fund’s purpose. The staff’s and leadership’s sole focus is to relieve some of the concern, expense and worry a family faces when experiencing financial difficulty, life transitions, or needs of a differently abled child.

The annual golf tournament raises funds ($107,843 this year!) to make all that magic happen for Kansas City kids, and, of course, it’s an enormous undertaking. Some of the Cenetric team and I helped out by stuffing swag bags the night before and collecting signs and coolers from the course after the event. It takes a ton of work to make these events happen, and we were so impressed with the entire team that put it all together.
