Cenetric was proud to be a sponsor recently for Smarty Pints, a fundraiser for the KC Tech Council at Boulevard Brewing Company. The event was a tech trivia night to support KCTC’s efforts to strengthen and promote our area as a tech hub of the Midwest.
How the KC Tech Council drives tech growth in our area
KCTC focuses on driving access to the industry for technology workers in the Kansas City region, as well as workforce development and policy advocacy. We’re so pleased to be able to support their efforts to build a stronger technology community here.
Workforce development is an especially valuable part of KCTC’s work. The organization’s leaders know that a rising tide lifts all boats and when you can build a robust tech job market, workers and businesses both succeed. They even built a fascinating dashboard to track area job trends and show how Kansas City compares to the national tech workforce.
Most recently, KCTC launched Leadership and Empowerment for Girls in Tech (LEGiT KC), a program designed to introduce the opportunities of the tech industry to high school girls in Kansas City, offering guidance and mentorship. As a woman-owned business, Cenetric is happy to support programs like this one. Bringing more girls and women into tech helps diversify the industry and creates valuable opportunities for them to grow and achieve.
At Smarty Pints, Cenetric was represented by team members Dave Warner and Justin Robinson, who invited a few other KC techies to join them at the Cenetric table. While we didn’t prevail, everyone was successful in having a good time!
