Celebrating Big Wins with Big Cats

My co-workers at Cenetric and I prioritize thinking and working like a team for our clients, so I always make time for group outings to keep that teamwork culture alive and well.
Recently, our team had cause to celebrate when we were recognized on the Ingram’s Magazine Corporate Report 100 Fastest Growing Companies in the Region list for the second consecutive year. We were also recently named the #1 Favorite IT Company in Kansas City by The Kansas City Star.
What better way to bond as a team and celebrate our wins than to visit a Kansas City attraction that’s a bit of a hidden gem — Cedar Cove Conservation and Education Center in Louisburg, Kansas? We included our families as well because they’re also a valuable part of Cenetric’s success, of course.
After lunch at Firebirds in Overland Park, we all headed down to Cedar Cove for some time learning about all sorts of fascinating animals.
Cedar Cove is a nonprofit conservation and educational center committed to the care and preservation of endangered species. Their team educates the public on the importance of each species’ preservation and that of their natural ecosystems, as well as the looming dangers of their extinction.
Cedar Cove has more than 20 animals on site right now, including lions, a leopard, a mountain lion, wolves, servals, a caracal, a lynx, an Asian leopard cat, bobcats, Geoffroy’s cats, coatimundis, foxes, and tigers.
Speaking of tigers, they have one of the cats that formerly belonged to “Tiger King” Joe Exotic, who had surrendered them to a rescue in Colorado.
It was wonderful for all of us — adults and kids alike — to see these special animals up close, learn about the important role they play in our environment, and hear about how they’re being cared for at Cedar Cove. We highly recommend booking a private tour during the week or a public tour on the weekend.
