By Dave Warner, Systems Engineer at Cenetric
At Cenetric, we know engagement and fun go a long way toward more productivity and better mental health for our team. That’s why we make sure to bring both to our work environment so we can put employees first.
Getting out in the community as a team is a must
From participating in 5Ks and sponsoring bicycle rides to offering free IT services to nonprofits, Cenetric deeply believes that making ourselves an active part of our community not only improves the community itself but improves our teamwork as well.
And we aren’t the only ones who think so. Academic research shows that volunteering enhances job performance by improving employees’ focus on their work and positive behaviors on the job.
We can see the results for ourselves: Our team not only has a lot of fun working together inside and outside the office, but we have a 99.98% client satisfaction rate and a 92% first-time fix rate. You just won’t get that kind of service from a team that doesn’t feel connected to each other and the community.
Everybody’s brain needs a break — and it’s more fun as a team
Brain breaks have been shown to restore workers’ attentiveness and drive creativity — and who doesn’t need a little creativity when you’re solving complex technology problems?
At Cenetric, you’ll sometimes find us playing board games to take a few minutes away from work and shift our thinking. If we’re stuck, pausing tough projects by doing a puzzle or playing a game really snaps us out of the routine and gives us a new perspective.
Our focus on teamwork starts at the top
Brittany Fugate — our founder, CEO and fearless leader — makes sure that every Cenetric team member feels supported. She brings in a chaplain weekly to give team members a chance to talk about anything they need to, provides unlimited PTO so we can keep a healthy work-life balance, and plans plenty of fun games and contests to keep us all energized.
Brittany has also prioritized little things around our office that create a more comfortable environment, like our company fish tank. Checking out what the fish are up to is a popular way for us all to take a quick mental break and interact.
(Did you know a study by the University of Exeter showed that viewing aquarium displays helps reduce people’s blood pressures and heart rates? Researchers also found that higher numbers of fish in the tank helped improve moods.)
Most of all, she’s always checking in to make sure everybody has what they need and we’re on the same page. She always goes out of her way to celebrate individual and team successes and achievements. It keeps us a close-knit team that always goes the extra mile for each other and our clients.
Cenetric’s teamwork means better service for you
A happy, engaged team that likes working together in the office and in the community means we’re ready to work harder for your business.
