Technology is a double-edged sword for non-profits — they depend on it to support their work, but it’s also a big expense that diverts funds from their cause. Almost half (45%) of non-profits say they’re spending too little on tech, and 77% of those organizations say it’s because the budget just isn’t available.
Since 2017, Cenetric has relieved Kansas City non-profits of this burden by supporting their missions with free IT support for a year.
“No matter what kind of work our clients do, we make it our mission to support their missions,” said Brittany Fugate, Cenetric founder and CEO. “But we especially want to support the important contributions non-profits make to our community, and technology plays an important role in that.”
Taking care of IT so non-profits can take care of others
The companies we’ve supported with the sponsorship in the past have freed up resources they would have spent on IT and redirected them to their work. We’ve also helped them bump up security and speed to help them do even more for their communities.
Previous recipients include:
- 2024: ELIAS Animal Health and TVAX Biomedical work alongside each other on cancer treatment research for both humans and dogs..
- 2023: BioNexus KC has a team of just five employees that work to support important medical research, improve healthcare outcomes, and develop the life sciences economy in the Kansas City region.
- 2022: Cancer Action provides resources, information, and compassionate support for area cancer patients and strives to help individuals and family members navigate a positive cancer journey.
How to nominate a non-profit for a year of free IT support
Will your non-profit (or one you care about) be next?
We know our committee’s choice will be tough, but we want to hear about as many organizations doing great work as we can. Tell us who’s doing amazing stuff! The guidelines for the sponsorship are:
- The sponsorship period runs from January 1, 2025 until December 31, 2025 and includes IT helpdesk, remote support, maintenance, management and server monitoring.
- The organization must have active 501(c)(3) status with the IRS and provide an outside service that positively impacts the community.
- Complete the nomination form by midnight on December 15, 2024.
Even if you’re a for-profit business, you can nominate your favorite non-profit to receive a year of free IT support in 2025. We encourage non-profits to nominate themselves and tell us about their important work!
